10 Gigabit Ethernet connection via USB-C up to 10 Gbps
With the AXAGON ADE-10GR external USB network adapter, you can connect your laptop or computer to the internet, local LAN network, or directly to NAS at speeds up to 10 Gbit/s. Simply connect it to your laptop using the included USB-C cable and plug the network cable into the RJ-45 connector. Compared to Wi-Fi, the wired connection offers lower latency, more stable data transfer, and higher connection reliability. The USB-C 20Gbps cable is detachable, allowing you to replace it with a longer one if needed.
The adapter also supports Wake-on-LAN for remotely waking up the computer and the power-saving Energy Efficient Ethernet mode. It is ideal for fast NAS backups, working with large video files stored on the network, or a home lab with a 10G switch. It also suits laptops without a LAN port or those equipped only with slower gigabit connectivity.
Fast connection to NAS, server, and 10G switch
The adapter supports all transfer speeds from 10 Mbit/s to 10 Gbit/s (including 1, 2.5, and 5 Gbit/s) with automatic speed configuration according to the connected device. You can use it with a 10G switch or NAS just as easily as with an existing gigabit network. A 100 GB backup can be transferred in roughly two minutes. For 10 Gbit/s speeds, we recommend a network cable of category Cat 6A or higher.
Wake-on-LAN and energy saving
The network adapter featuring the Realtek RTL8159 chip supports Wake-on-LAN, allowing you to remotely wake up the computer from sleep over the network—for example, for file access or remote management. The Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) technology reduces power consumption when no data is being transferred over the network. The adapter is powered directly via the USB port and requires no external power source.
Compatibility with Windows and Linux
The network adapter is designed for Windows 10, Windows 11, and Linux operating systems. It works with laptops, ultrabooks, and desktop computers equipped with a USB-C 10Gbps port or faster, including USB4 and Thunderbolt 3/4/5. Under Windows 11, the driver installs automatically (Plug and Play), so you can use the adapter immediately. For maximum speed, we recommend installing the Realtek driver available on the product page at www.axagon.eu. On Linux, installing this driver is essential to achieve speeds exceeding 1 Gbit/s.
Aluminum housing with fingerprint resistance and keyring loop
The compact aluminum housing with ribbing reliably protects the electronics from mechanical damage and effectively dissipates heat generated during operation – the adapter does not require a fan and is completely silent. The fingerprint-resistant surface finish keeps the adapter clean even with everyday use. Thanks to the braided keyring loop, you can attach the adapter to your keys or bag and always have it handy, whether working at the office, at home, or on the go.
